La identidad hispano-estadounidense se unifica por los aspectos del idioma español, la religión católica, la categorización estatal y homogenización en una manera que les da a los hispano-estadounidenses un poder tanto socio-político como socio-económico en Estados Unidos. Se puede ver el impacto de dicho poder en el lugar de trabajo y los campos profesionales, la influencia que los hispano-estadounidenses tienen en las elecciones y la importancia de sus asuntos en las noticias y en el campo de periodismo, en general.

En Estados Unidos, los inmigrantes legales son los refugiados y aquellos que buscan asilo debido a persecución qu sufren y, pero también, aquellos que llegan con un visado para trabajar.

Ken Hadfield’s office may look like the typical print shop or advertising agency, posters and fliers cover the walls but with just enough white space in between to look tidy.

Some of them are art posters of animals, others are of models and some are even advertisements for the big corporations.

According to a Maricopa County Superior Court spokesman, Ryan Giroux pleaded not guilty on Monday to a Mesa shooting that left one dead, five wounded and brought 23 charges against him including first-degree murder.

While the shootings received major local news coverage, Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) permit instructor Glen Stilson said the incident has not significantly increased his number of students.

More than 35,000 people celebrated the freedom of sexual preference during the 35th anniversary of Phoenix Pride festival at Steele Indian School Park on Saturday and Sunday with a parade, drinks, live music, leather and spandex swimwear.

The event took six months to plan, five days to set up and required more than 500 volunteers to run it, according to Phoenix Pride Executive Director Justin Owen.

A Maricopa County Superior Court judge sentenced Arthur Rey Juarez, 44, to 33 years in prison and lifetime probation on Friday, April 24, for three counts of sexual acts with a minor.

A trial by jury in March, 2013, found Juarez, a former employee of the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department, guilty of attempt to commit molestation of a child, molestation of a child and sexual conduct with a minor for crimes that were committed in 1998.

TIJUANA, MEXICO – Several hundred people gathered on both sides of the U.S./Mexico border on March 22 to mourn the death of Gonzalo Chaidez, a deported U.S. Army veteran who died of tuberculosis two weeks before.

A small table with a folded American flag, flowers and photos of Mr. Chaidez pressed against the border fence, creating a shrine for friends, family and other loved ones to pray and pay their respects.

Mesa police arrested 41-year-old Ryan Elliot Giroux as a suspect after several shootings on Wednesday, March 18, left one dead, five wounded and locked down parts of the city during a lengthy manhunt.

Police reported that an argument took place in a room at the Tri-City Inn, located at 1504 W. Main St., which escalated to a shooting that took the life of who witnesses identified as David Williams and injured two others.
